Turning Shipping Containers into Masterpieces: A 30ft Success Story

A loyal customer approached us for a quotation to convert a 40ft shipping container into a 30ft fitted out unit. We were asked to remanufacture a 40ft container into a 30ft fitting it out with insulation, flooring and customised doors, tailored to their requirements.
Previously, this customer had purchased a number of 20ft Opensider containers, but on this occasion, they wanted more.
Clare, our special projects manager supplied a quote based on the customers’ specification along with a lead time to carry out the work.
Understanding Our Client’s Needs
We were asked for a quotation to include the following:
- Take a New (one trip) blue 40ft container with double doors at one end and was remanufactured into a 30ft unit
- Ensure the unit is still ISO compliant
- The Exterior was to be repainted a grey/white colour
- To fit 1 x standard door access (PVC half double glazed) on the end of 1 length of the ISO
- The cargo doors were to be removed and panelled in.
- The interior was to be fully insulated and finished with melamine sheets on walls and the ceiling
- Joist noggins to be fitted behind the wall lining to support our Clients own Air Conditioning Units.
- Flooring was to be fitted with Vinyl
- Electrics to be included: 5 x Double sockets, 1 light switch, 3 x LED strip lights, Consumer unit for 63AMP isolator
Once we knew the exact specification we asked our depot repairers to prepare a CAD document to show the layout of each element. See below:
We then acquired authorisation from our client, before we carried out all the necessary work.
Our Container Conversion Process
Once the drawing and price was agreed by all parties, the work commenced. Our skilled container technicians carried out a professional job with attention to detail.
Photos of the completed unit were sent to the client before delivery, to be sure that the client was happy with the layout and workmanship.
